The day was capped off with a $713,000 donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and $25,000 donations to the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and Northwest Florida State College in the form of C.E. Fikes Endowed Scholarships. The Fikes Companies now support nine individual C.E. Fikes Endowed Scholarships that commemorate CEFCO’s founder Clarence Edison Fikes, in the communities that Fikes/CEFCO serve.
“Just five years ago our total contribution was $145,000. Our results this year represent a $618,000 or more than 400% improvement since then. This does not happen without tremendous passion by all of our Team Members for these very worthy causes”, said Brett Giesick, Chief Retail Officer of CEFCO Convenience Stores. “We are extremely proud of the commitment that our 2,500 associates exhibit towards helping these Children in need. Special recognition goes to our top selling Store Manager’s, Alesia Hernandez of Philadelphia, MS., Peg Barta of Temple, TX, Shane Aid of Cameron, TX. and Curtis Thompson whose store teams raised a collective $40,000. District Manager David Carter was also recognized for his team’s efforts as the top District.
Without the efforts of our frontline associates, Fikes/CEFCO support department fundraising, business partners, and customers, these results would not be possible.”
“James and Kim Fikes and our entire leadership and support teams from The Fikes Companies (Fikes Wholesale Inc., CEFCO Convenience Stores, Cord Financial Services, Group Petroleum Services, and JF Air Traffic), are honored to be able to give back to the communities we service,” said Raymond Smith, President, Fikes Wholesale, Inc. “It is inspirational to see how our employees have gotten involved in these grassroots fundraising efforts, and we continue to be extremely proud of these efforts.”
“Kim and I wish to thank our Customers, Team Members, and Business Partners who helped make this special day happen” said James Fikes, CEO of Fikes Wholesale. “Our collective future resides in our youth, and we are proud and humbled to be able to help by raising money for worthy causes such as CMN, McLane Children Hospital, and our C.E. Fikes Endowed Scholarships. Thank you to each of you who helped us contribute to these various causes which are so close to our hearts.”
