CEFCO Convenience Stores and parent company Fikes Wholesale, Inc., announced at its 15th Annual “Hackers-R-Us” Charity Golf Tournament, held on May 23th, 2016, that they will be donating a grand total of $760,000. Of the money raised this year, $510,000 will go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and $250,000 to the Fikes Charities.
“Once again the grass roots efforts of our store team members, support staff, and supply partners surpassed our expectations” said Brett Giesick, Chief Retail Officer of CEFCO Convenience Stores. “Our total contributions of $760,000 are truly amazing as compared to the $145,000 raised just a few short years ago, and is humbling when reflecting upon the nearly $5 million raised in total over the years for such worthy causes. We are extremely proud of the efforts of all 2,500 CEFCO/FIKES team members who worked hard to raise this money. Special recognition goes out to Store Manager Terri Shelton in Claude, Texas for raising nearly $20,000 and to our top District Managers Greg Sullivan and Amber Diephof, and their respective teams.”
“James and Kim Fikes, and our entire leadership and support teams from the Fikes Companies (Fikes Wholesale, CEFCO, Cord Financial, GPS transport, Fikes Terminals, and JF Air), are honored to be able to give back to the communities we service,” said Raymond Smith, President, Fikes Wholesale, Inc. “It is inspirational to see how every year our employees have gotten involved in these community causes, and we continue to be extremely proud of these efforts.”
“Kim and I wish to thank our Customers, Team Members, and Business Partners who allow us to continue to give back to the communities we live and work in” said James Fikes, CEO & Owner of Fikes Wholesale.
“Listening to the story of Texas CMN Champion Logan Parker, and the assistance CMN hospitals have provided to him, really puts things into perspective as to why we work so hard to help those in need. Once again, thank you all for what you do to help us contribute to these worthy causes.”
In 1999, CEFCO began its partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, with $700 raised in stores. CEFCO’s 2016 fundraising total marks some exciting milestones for the organization. To date, CEFCO has raised nearly $5,000,000 donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and various Fikes Charitable causes.
